Student Council:

Century Public School has a democratically elected student council. The students are nominated by the House Masters and all teachers. Thereafter, the nominated students are given 10 days to canvas for their positions. On a scheduled date, the students vote for the various candidates.

The Students’ Council, headed by the Head Boy and Head Girl, manage the student affairs and act as a link between the students and the School authorities.

At the House level, the House Captains and Prefects assist the House Master in managing the activities of the Houses.

In any good school the Students’ Council forms the backbone of school life.

Clubs

Club activity is an essential part of school life, giving an opportunity to students to explore their talents, their aptitude, and maybe finding a calling in life. The Clubs that will run in the school, managed by professionals, include the following:

ART AND CRAFT CLUB: The club aims at providing opportunities to our budding artists to learn and practice various art forms and develop their aesthetic sense. Their artistic talent is put to display on the school boards, at art exhibitions, and in various competitions.

DANCE CLUB: Students are trained on Western dance including Fusion Freestyle and Hip Hop, Kathak, Bhangra, Bollywood, Contemporary and Latin Dance. Dance becomes an integral part of all morning assemblies and is used as a medium for students to express their emotions and feelings.

DEBATERS CLUB: The club helps prepare the students for debates, declamations, MUNs and the World Scholars’ Cup. This helps students improve their communication skills and gain confidence in public speaking.

Trip and Tours

The School organises trips every year within India. The idea of the trips is to combine soft adventure with learning activities.

Learning from outdoor experiences, interactions, exposure to various cultural, geographical ecosystems, appreciating the wonders of the earth are some of the prime objectives of the various field trips and excursions that children undertake during their schooling years.

The Pre Primary and Primary School trips are often theme based, connecting to what they have in their curriculum – often based on studying elements of nature and engaging in activities close to nature. In addition day long study trips are a frequent occurrence, to places in and around Mohali.

House System

The objective behind the House System is to inculcate a spirit of excellence amidst healthy competition among students of different houses thereby fabricating strong individualistic traits in each student.

Each House is headed by the Captain and Prefects. A member of the teaching staff is in-charge of a particular House. He/she is called the House Master. He/she leads the House with the help of the teachers belonging to the corresponding House.

Inter House competitions are organised in various sports and co-curricular activities. The House system fosters a spirit of co-operation and healthy competition. A running trophy is awarded to the House that gains maximum points in that year. Academics, Sports and Co-curricular activities contribute points towards winning the running trophy.

The House System at the school consists of:

Aurobindo House
